Preparation

  • Preparation is not required.
  • A small amount of a radioisotope will be injected in your arm. After 15-20 minutes, you will lie on your back on the imaging table, and images of your abdomen will be then taken. It takes about 40 minutes. Scans of the liver and the spleen are done at the same time.
