Brain Imaging / Scan

A Brain SPECT  obtains tomographic images of  the distribution of a radiopharmaceutical, which reflects blood flow to the brain.
Procedure

  • The radiopharmaceutical injected to the patient takes about an hour to take effect.
  • The scan takes about 30 minutes and you will be asked to lie flat on an imaging table and hold very still the entire length of the exam.
